Cohuna Neighbourhood House extends a hand of friendship to all members of our community.

Cohuna Neighbourhood House is a not-for-profit community organisation that receives funding from Department of Health and Human Services with further income derived from room rental, services and programs and courses offered. We auspice and partner with other local organisations to deliver services, programs and events that develop and enrich our community.
Mission
To provide Cohuna and District communities with a diverse and integrated range of support, services and programs for individuals, groups, families and other organizations. This is to be offered in a warm friendly environment free of any bias, prejudice and social injustices.

Cohuna Neighbourhood House (CNH) is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. CNH has zero tolerance for child abuse and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently with our policies and procedures.
CNH is committed to providing a children safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Particular attention will be paid to the cultural safety of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island children and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds as well as safety of children with a disability.
Every person in authority involved in CNH has a responsibility to understand the important specific role she/he plays individually and collectively to ensure that the wellbeing and safety of all children and young people is at the forefront of all they do and every decision they make.

The Cohuna Neighbourhood House is using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a guide to align their priorities and practices toward a more sustainable future for our community.
History
The Cohuna Neighbourhood House was originally established as a sub-branch of the of Gannawarra Neighbourhood House located in Kerang. It was opened on 27 November 1996 and was staffed entirely by volunteers. Funding was approved in 2001 for a 15 hour per week coordinator position together with volunteers.
In 2007 Cohuna separated from Kerang and established their own Community Committee. Additional funding allowed an extension of opening hours to Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm. In December 2007 the Cohuna Learning Centre was incorporated into Cohuna Neighbourhood House allowing a variety of courses to be offered to the Cohuna Community. CNH incorporated on 1 July 2014.
CNH has been instrumental in the support and development of many local projects and community groups. These include:
Establishment of and auspice body for the Cohuna Men’s Shed 2007
Establishment of and auspice body for the Cohuna Art and Craft Gallery 2009
Auspice body for Cohuna U3A. (U3A became independent and incorporated as Gannawarra U3A Inc in 2012)
The re-development of Gilrule Park and the development of Mitchell Park in 2011. The official opening of these areas was held on 22 September 2013.
